Mission

Our mission is to level the socio-economic playing field by supporting students from underserved communities to achieve their college and career dreams.

Vision

We aspire to live in a region where one’s income, race, or ethnicity cannot be a statistical predictor of academic success, and where every child has equitable access to postsecondary education, training, and opportunity.

driving everything we do

The path to higher education should feel possible, supported, and full of promise. At FuturesNW, we walk alongside students as they move from high school toward the futures they imagine for themselves.

Our work comes to life through programs like Learning with Leaders, From One to Many, Pathways Navigation Support, and community-based events. Through deep partnerships with schools, community organizations, and regional systems, we clarify confusing processes, remove roadblocks, and ensure students have the support to not only start but continue toward their goals.

FuturesNW is deeply committed to building strong, healthy, and resilient communities by supporting students and families who have historically been underserved. We believe opportunity should be created through collective care and strong systems, not placed on the shoulders of exceptional individuals. We recognize the historical and ongoing inequities that shape access to education in our region. We acknowledge that this work takes place on the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, and we offer our gratitude and respect to the Lummi Nation, Nooksack Tribe, Samish Indian Nation, and Swinomish Indian Tribal Community.
