We are so excited to share with you all that we will be hosting Financial Aid completion office hours every Friday Jan 21st through June 10th from 10-1:00 and 1:30-2:30. You can now join us whenever it works for you!

These are a few scenarios in which we were hoping to be helpful:

If you are a student with a question and your teacher or school staff says it’s okay to hop into our zoom during school to complete your application, we are here for it.

If you are a high school and beyond coordinator or school counselor with a long list of students to support and not enough time, we are here to help you reach your goals. Feel free to connect your students with us!

If you are a parent with some time on your lunch break or have a moment throughout your day to help your student complete their FAFSA or WASFA form, we are happy to help answer your questions.

If you are a teacher and have Financial Aid completions as one of your goals, but have some tricky questions you want to ask, please join us or send your students to our office hours.

Together we can help get the word out and get as many students supported so that they have an opportunity to get grants, scholarships, and other funding for school or apprenticeship programs by completing their FAFSA or WASFA applications successfully.

Now more than ever, thanks to the Washington College Grant, more families can get free money for school! It’s our goal to make sure our students connect with those funds so that college and apprenticeship programs can be free or more affordable.

Path to Pro Scholarship Program 

The Home Depot Foundation seeks to help remove the financial barriers for students engaged in career-readiness programming and prepare the next generation of skilled trade leaders. The UW DO-IT Scholars Program

DO-IT Scholars are HS students with disabilities planning to continue their education after they graduate. Scholars prepare for their transition to college—which includes exploring careers, independence, self-advocacy, and leadership. Is open to HS sophomores or juniors.

Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship

Selected applicants for the Navy ROTC Scholarship Program are awarded scholarships through a highly competitive national selection process, and receive full tuition, books stipend, educational fees and other financial benefits at many of the country's leading colleges and universities. Upon graduation, midshipmen are commissioned as officers in the unrestricted line Naval Reserve or Marine Corps Reserve.

The American Legion National HS Oratorical Contest Scholarship

The American Legion’s National High School Oratorical Scholarship Program – “A Constitutional Speech Contest” aims to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school students. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, the rights and privileges of American citizenship.

The USDA 1994 Tribal Scholars Program

The program provides full tuition, employment, employee benefits, fees, books, and room and board each year for up to 4 years to selected students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food science, natural resource science, or a related academic discipline at one of 35 federally recognized tribal colleges and universities. USDA/1890 National Scholars Program

Scholarships are awarded annually and must be used at one of the 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities. Each award provides full tuition, as well as room and board, for the term of the scholarship. Must be nominated. The WA World Fellowship is a 2.5-year global leadership program that aims to empower young leaders through college preparation, leadership training, and international travel. Open to 15 new students each year, the fellowship is administered at no cost to its participants. Starting in their sophomore year, Fellows begin a rigorous college preparation program that includes college research, mentoring, and preparation for college entrance exams. The program helps students prepare their college and scholarship applications, supports their academic goals, and more.

  • College Board Opportunity Scholarships.When deciding which colleges, you want to apply to, aim to have at least six schools on your list, including three reach, two matches, and one safety. Seniors who strengthen their college list will earn a chance at a $500 scholarship!

  • Campus Pride Social Justice Mini-Grants for Activism. Grant Awards: Up to $600 to individuals, student organizations, or campuses. Priority consideration: Efforts that focus on 18-26-year-old young adults. Advocating for LGBTQ awareness, programming, and initiatives within a social justice lens addressing intersections of ethnicity, race, class, ability, faith/spirituality, etc. Rolling deadlines.

  • WSECU Scholarships. The next application period is Dec. 13, 2021 to Feb. 14, 2022. WSECU members of all ages are welcome to apply. $2,000 is awarded for two-year colleges and vocational schools. $3,000 is awarded for four-year undergraduate and graduate programs.
